Walnut Trace Farm is a family-friendly boarding and training facility with a laid back atmosphere. We focus on Eventing, Dressage, and Hunter/Jumper disciplines and have trainers that specialize in each. We host monthly schooling shows that include combined tests, mini events, dressage shows, and jumper shows. We are lucky to also bring in some world-class clinicians to provide excellent clinic opportunities to the greater Nashville area.

Above all, we believe that it is not only important to do what you love, but love what you do — we are all about having fun and enjoying the beauty of nature as well as the majestic animals we get to ride on a daily basis.

Our Facilities include:

  • Jumping arena
  • Dressage arena, with Judge’s stand
  • Three barns
  • Complete 18 and 2′ mini cross country courses
  • Cross country schooling fences through training level
  • Many trails through rolling fields and woods

Excerpt from a featured article about the farm:

In 2007, David and Grace Johnson of Davidson Co, TN, each realized a dream. With the purchase of 100 acres near Bellevue, Grace got the land needed to launch her horse boarding and training business and David, an architect, became a “weekend farmer.” On that land, they began building fences, barns, and arenas, while turning it into a first-class operation. Then, in 2009, they got the opportunity to buy an adjoining 120 acres of hay fields, additional riding trails, and more. “When the family that owned the property saw the improvements we were making with out current farm and the way we were treating the land, they told us that their father would be very proud for the land to be part of our farm, and asked if we would like to buy it,” said David.

We now enjoy that land for trail riding and much, much more! We continue to improve our cross country course and are adding more pasture space for our horses.
